Research Interests
The human genome contains 3 billion bases. Less than 2 % of the genome codes for protein, and the function of the remaining portion of the genome is not well understood. Recent studies showed the non-coding genome plays critically important roles in gene regulation, but systematic functional studies for non-coding genome are not well established.
The evolution of the development of CRISPR and thigh-throughput technology enables functional studies for non-coding genome. Using those technologies, we aim to identify novel disease-associated aberrations, and provide new strategies for treating incurable diseases based on genome and epigenome editing technologies.
