Interfacial Physics and Chemistry Laboratory (IPCL) focuses on fundamental understanding of physics and chemistry at interfaces/surfaces ranging from bio-surfaces (i.e., lipid membranes, protein films, biopolymers), polymeric films, and inorganic surfaces (i.e., metals and metal oxides). We aim to use our knowledge to develop high performance polymeric and/or polymer composite materials for various purposes such as functional adhesives (e.g. underwater, stretchable, biocompatible, conductive, hydrophilic), lubricants (ocular, synovial, high and low temperature), and coatings (hydro-philic/phobic, aero-philic/phobic, antifouling).
