Exponential increases in demand for oil and environmental issues such as carbon dioxide (CO2) emission are continuing to exert pressure. Renewable energy technologies, like solar cells, fuel cells, biofuels, catalysis, and rechargeable batteries have been developed significantly. Electrochemical energy production is one alternative energy source since this is designed to be more sustainable and more environmentally benign. To cope with these demands, School of Energy and Chemical Engineering is newly established. This unique and interdisciplinary school system will provide not only new cutting knowledge to the students but also more cooperative research opportunities to the faculties.

Research Area: Energy Engineering (Solar Cell, Energy Materials), Chemical Engineering (Catalysts, Materials/Devices, Biorefinery, Modeling and Simulations), Battery Science and Technology
