Abstract
An analytical and numerical investigations are carried out under the standard kinetic model to understand various propagation features of electrostatic (e.s) waves in nonthermal electron-positron-ion (EPI) plasma. The species are characterized by nonthermal Cairns distribution function. The effects of nonthermality parameter alpha, density (nop) and temperature (Top) of positrons are investigated on the real and imaginary frequency of both Langmuir Waves (LWs) and Ion Acoustic Waves (IAWs). The results of this model suggest that alpha, nop, and Top significantly alter the real frequency and damping rate of both LWs and IAWs. The investigations are useful in the fields of space plasma and astrophysical plasma.
