Abstract
Nuclear Data Production System (NDPS), a neutron experimental system, was constructed at Rare isotope Accelerator complex for ON-line experiments (RAON) in South Korea. The SuperConducting LINAC 3 (SCL3) accelerates ion beams and delivers them to NDPS for neutron production and nuclear data measurements. Neutrons are produced in the NDPS target room and transported to the Time-Of-Flight (TOF) room through a 4-m-long neutron collimator. In the Low Energy Beam Transport (LEBT) line, a fast chopper and a double-gap buncher are installed to provide pulsed ion beams with a repetition rate of less than 1 MHz and a bunch length of less than 1 ns in FWHM. A Parallel Plate Avalanche Counter (PPAC) and EJ-301 detectors are installed in the TOF room to measure the position and the energy of neutrons using the TOF technique. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of NDPS and its current status.
