Abstract
Treatment of mononuclear nonheme iron(II) complexes bearing two cis-labile sites with perbenzoic acids results in the self-hydroxylation of the aromatic ring to form the corresponding iron(III)-salicylate complexes through an intramolecular oxotransfer process.
