Abstract
Zwitterions have been used extensively for antifouling membrane modification as they can form a stable hydration layer. This characteristic is due to the polymeric brush’s capacity to expand in both non-ionic and ionic environments, so effectively minimizing the approach of foulants. Lab-synthesized Zwitterionic material (Sulfobetaine vinylimidazole - SBVI) was utilized as modifying agent to enhance fouling resistance of commercial polyamide (PA) NF90 membrane
