Abstract
Preliminary results of BEAVRS whole core cycle 1 and cycle 2 problems have been generated by using whole core neutron transport analysis code STREAM. STREAM has been developed to solve a whole core problem with the direct neutron transport calculation and multi-physics coupling. A number of advanced methods, especially resonance self-shielding method and neutron transport calculation method, have been implemented in STREAM to enhance accuracy and performance. STREAM has features needed for a practical reactor design. The BEAVRS benchmark has been selected to validate STREAM in this work. BEAVRS cycle 1 and 2 have been analyzed by STREAM, and then critical boron concentration (CBC) and detector signal results have been compared to measured data. As results of the validation work, STREAM shows ~20 ppm error in CBC calculation, and ~1.5% RMS error in axially integrated detector signal.
