Abstract
We present validation elements for the coupled neutron-photon calculation capability recently implemented in the MCS Monte Carlo code developed at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST). Two gamma-leakage benchmark experiments from the Shielding Integral Benchmark Archive and Database (SINBAD) are interpreted : leakage from seven hollow spheres made of Al, Ti, Fe, Cu, Zr, Pb and 238U measured at the Russian Federal Nuclear Center (RFNC) (NEA-1517/74) and leakage from four hollow spheres made of Al, Si, W and Mn measured at the OKTAVIAN facility of Osaka university, Japan (NEA-1553/52&53 and NEA-1553/77&78). A preliminary verification of MCS against the Monte Carlo code MCNP6 shows good agreement in the calculated neutron and photon spectra. Consistency is observed between the quantities calculated by MCS with the libraries ENDF/B-VII.1 and EPICS2014 and the experimental data.
