Conventional imaging systems suffer from a trade-off between the field of view and resolution. To overcome this limitation, we demonstrate dynamic gigapixel imaging via synthetic aperture microscopy. Integration of low magnification high numerical aperture condenser lenses enable submicron resolution live imaging over an extended field of view. Based on holographic measurements, image reconstruction is realized in real time enabling truly live imaging. Recent developments in the field of Fourier Ptychography have demonstrated gigapixel imaging via multiple image acquisitions and iterative reconstruction algorithms.
