Elastic metasurface is artificial structure that sub-wavelength unit cells are periodically arranged. It is designed to manipulate wave physics on boundary by changing wave phase shift and classified into reflection and transmission type. The most important part in designing metasurface is tailoring unit cells that produce a desired phase shifts at a target frequency. But conventional manual design methods usually require a lot of computational resources and time, so they do not meet the efficient and fast design as needed. To overcome the limitations, in the process of setting units cell design variables, we will apply the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. In addition, it will be shown that, by applying the results obtained through PSO, unit cell with desired phase shift can be created even with a very simple strip structure.
