Abstract
Various nanomaterials have been widely utilized for many catalytic reactions, due to their high
surface area and tailored structure. The specific interface derived from metallic nanoparticles and
oxide supports greatly influences catalytic performance. Herein, colloidal metallic nanoparticles are
incorporated into mesoporous oxides as a supported catalyst. The new interface between metal and
oxide in nanocatalysts has been demonstrated by accelerating the reaction rate and changing
product selectivity in many model catalytic reactions. Utilizing sophisticated nanostructured
materials and their unique interactions opens up new possibilities for understanding interesting
catalyst phenomena and developing next-generation catalysts and efficient catalytic processes that
exhibit 100% selectivity, maximum activity, and long-term stability.
