Abstract
Arginine phosphorylation is highly important for bacterial signaling, especially in the protein degradation system. Protein arginine kinases and phosphatases are recently reported, but there is a lack of study about phosphoarginine (pArg)-binding proteins. Finding new pArg-binding proteins will be critically important in understanding the functions of protein arginine phosphorylation. In this study, we report our progress in this direction. Our top candidates are not yet known to be phosphorylation-related, hinting at novel functions of pArg.
