본 발명은 나프탈렌과 아이소프로필 알코올을 이용한 아이소프로필레이션 반응을 통하여 2,6-디아이소프로필나프탈렌(2,6-Diisopropylnaphthalene, 2,6-DIPN)을 제조하는 데에 사용되는 제올라이트 개질 촉매와, 그 제조방법 및 상기 개질 촉매를 이용하여 2,6-디아이소프로필나프탈렌을 제조하는 방법에 관한 것이다.
본 발명에서 제공하는 개질 촉매는 USY 제올라이트 촉매에 아연 산화물 또는 철 산화물을 담지하여, 촉매의 우수한 안정성 및 활성뿐만 아니라, 나프탈렌의 아이소프로필레이션 반응 시 2,6-DIPN에 대한 선택도 또한 향상시킬 수 있다.
