Abstract
A simple method of preparation of highly porous ceramic structures through the removal of metal oxides (SnO2) during high temperature sintering, was investigated. This method requires neither time consuming chemical leaching nor following up gas reduction procedure. This method provides a simple way to introduce additional porosity into ceramic materials and can be directly incorporated into ceramic production routes without introducing additional procedures. This simple and cost effective method has many potential applications such as solid oxide fuel cells, solid state gas sensors, catalysis, and gas separation.
