Abstract
A creation preferred hopping sites can present a greater perturbation than normal dynamic statistical fluctuations in π-π overlap integrals and hence more drastically influence transport. Based on this consideration, we have introduced naphthalene units as suitable hopping sites into poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene) backbone, yielding poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene-ran-naphthalene) (PF0.85N0.15) that contains randomly 85% of 9,9-dioctylfluorene and 15% of naphthalene. Herein, a blue-emitting distributed feedback laser by using the resulting polymer is presented.
