Abstract
Immiscibility between water and oil can be a useful phenomenon for micro scale applications. Using the unmixable characteristic, a certain amount of water can be patterned and compartmentalized by oil on a chip. A fully isolated aqueous microenvironment array is applicable to various high-throughput screening(HTS) of random mutagenic microorganisms. A simple high-throughput screening platform that utilizes the immiscibility and the specific gravity difference of two fluids that are an aqueous solution and an oil. Furthermore, extraction of desired sample was achieved in an effective way.
