Abstract
Reactions that look after themselves : Interfacial instabilities caused by chemical reactions can increase the area of contact between fluids and enhance their mixing or dispersion. Although instabilities in macroscopic liquid/liquid systems are well‐understood, “reactive mixing” at molecular length scales presents a challenge and an opportunity for future research. The picture shows two‐dimensional density fields of two miscible reactive fluids.
