공동체 문화발전에 대한 간학문적 접근: 생태시민성 증진을 위한 융합예술-환경 수업 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 생태시민으로서 책임과 권한을 학습하고 생태중심의 공동체 문화발전을 촉진하는 융합예술-환경교육 프로그램의 개발을 목적으로 진행되었다. 이를 위해 환경교사 대상 설문조사와 초점집단면접, 대안학교 중등 미술과 담당교사들과 심층 면접을 실시하였다. 설문조사와 초점집단면접, 심층면접 결과의 분석을 통해 프로그램의 구성을 위한 5개의 조건과 2개의 핵심 교육목표를 찾았다. 5개의 조건은 ①일상으로부터 문제를 발견하고 다양한 방법으로 문제를 해결하는 비구조화된 문제, ②예술적 소통을 통해 공동체 문화 형성에 기여하는 미술창작 과제, ③미술과의 과정기술을 적용하여 창의적으로 문제를 해결하는 과제, ④다양한 감각으로 자연을 탐색하고 정서적 유대를 형성하는 체험활동, ⑤시각문화와 대중매체에 나타난 상업주의 및 물화현상에 대한 비평학습이다. 이러한 조건과 함께 생태적 삶의 추구와 시민의식의 교육이라는 대안교육현장에서 공유되고 있는 교육목표를 적용하여 융합예술-환경교육 프로그램인 <공공예술 프로젝트: 채식주의 연습>을 구성하였다. 이 프로젝트 학습은 채식주의를 주제로 환경과 건강, 식이, 사회, 문화, 예술에 관한 다양한 의견을 나누며 관객이 참여할수 있는 공공설치물 또는 예술캠페인을 기획하고 이에 대한 홍보물을 제작하는 과정으로 이루어진다. 학생들은 이 수업과정에 참여함으로써 예술적 소통을 통한 생태적 삶의 가치와 시민의식을 학습한다.

With the aim of developing the promotion of ecological citizenship, this study conducted a survey, focus group interviews with environmental teachers, and in-depth interviews with art teachers at alternative educational sites to propose an interdisciplinary program that integrates art and environmental education. Based on the analysis, we found five conditions and two key educational goals under which the classroom activities were organized. The five conditions included: 1) activities based on unstructured problems found in everyday life; 2) tasks that involve artistic communication to form a community culture; 3) tasks that require applying the process skills used in art to solve problems creatively; 4) activities that explore nature through multiple senses and encourage the formation of emotional bonds; and 5) activities that promote critiques of commercialism and reification prevailing in visual culture and mass media. In addition, the value of ecological life and the ecological citizenship, as the key educational goals shared at the alternative education, played a crucial role in the development of the interdisciplinary program, Public Art Project: A Vegetarian Practice.
