Abstract
Photoacoustic tomography, the well-known example of a hybrid imaging method, is a biomedical imaging modality based on the photoacoustic effect. Assuming cylindrical-shaped detectors are used to record the acoustical data for the photoacoustic tomography, we propose a new Radon-type transform to reconstruct the initial density function. The reconstruction of the suggested Radon-type transform is based on the properties of Bessel functions and Fourier-Bessel series expansion. Numerical simulation results are presented to demonstrate our proposed algorithm. © 2017 Springer Science+Business Media New Yor
