Abstract
NBR 라텍스를 core로 하고 이를 감싸는 shell 부분에 아크릴산을 포함한 아크릴 공단량체를 seed 중합법을 도입함으로써 카르복실화된 NBR 라텍스를 합성하였다. 이러한 seed 유화중합의 유화제의 선정과 사용량, 개시제의 선택, acid 단량체의 첨가량 및 core를 둘러싸는 shell의 무게비 등에 대하여 조사를 하였다. Sodium oleate를 유화제로 하여 중합된 NBR 코어 라텍스에 아크릴산을 포함한 아크릴 공단량체를 seed 중합의 도입함에 있어서 비이온 또는 sodium oleate와 같은 카르복실레이트계 음이온 유화제보다는 sodium dodecyl sulfonate와 같은 유화제가 중합 안정성을 현저히 향상시켰다. 또 아크릴산 단량체를 일부 NaOH로 중화하고 투입함으로써 안정성이 향상되었으며 아크릴산의 함량이 증가할수록 생성되는 최종 라텍스의 입경이 증가되었다. 그리고 core/shell의 무게비가 1:0.2 정도로 감소되면 coagulum이 줄어들고 최종 입경이 감소됨을 알 수 있었다. In order to improve the stability and compatibility of NBR latex with other filler and resin, carboxylated NBR latices were synthesized by seed emulsion polymerization. The reaction conditions studied include type and amount of emulsifier, partial neutralization of acrylic monomer, the ratio of acrylic monomer in the acrylic type co-monomer, and the NBR core/shell weight ratio. Sulfonate type emulsifiers such sodium dodecyl sulfonate was found to minimize the coagulum formation in seed emulsion polymerization compared with carboxylate type or non-ion type emulsifiers. As the degree of neutralization and the amount of acrylic acid monomer were increased, the stability and particle size of the final latices increased. As the core/shell weight ratio was decreased to about 1 : 0.2, the final latices showed smaller particle size and less coagulum formation.
