Our laboratory, built on the convergence of Materials Science and Civil & Architectural Engineering, focuses on transforming diverse industrial by-products—such as coal ash, metallurgical slags, chemical residues, and mining tailings—into high-value resources. In Korea, more than 30 million tons of such wastes are generated annually, yet they are predominantly subjected to low-value or rudimentary recycling practices. By advancing these materials into high-performance, carbon-reducing structural materials for construction and building applications, we aim to contribute to the sustainable future of the construction industry.
