Research Interests
We aim to develop novel biomedical imaging techniques based on optical (i.e., optics) and acoustical (i.e., ultrasound) methods. In particular, we are interested in developing advanced imaging systems and devices based on the photoacoustic tomography (PAT) and ultrasound imaging techniques to use them for endoscopy or minimally-invasive imaging, brain imaging, cancer imaging study, etc. PAT is a novel tomographic imaging technique that combines the high contrast benefit of optical imaging and the high-resolution and deep imaging capability of ultrasound imaging, and it is expected to have a great impact on medicine and biology.
