Research Interests
We study environmental bioprocess engineering for sustainable waste(water) management. We are particularly interested in microbial bioconversion of waste biomass into valuable chemicals and energy products, such as methane, hydrogen, and organic and fatty acids. We are recently exploring microbial electrosynthesis technologies combining biological and electrochemical processes, focusing on the conversion of carbon dioxide into value-added products. Our research also includes microbial ecology studies to better understand the microbial interactions and community dynamics in environmental bioprocesses.
