Lab Description
As a scholar and teacher, I work on the nineteenth-century Russian literature. In my early research I studied Ukrainian-born Russian writer Gogol from the perspective of nationalism. Since my translation of _Anna Karenina_ came out in 2011, most of my research has focused on Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, which resulted in a monograph _Dostoevsky and Tolstoy_, a comparative study of their major novels. I plan to cast a new light on diverse aspects of Tolstoy as a writer and humanist.
