| dc.description.abstract | Here, we report the synthesis of new functional monomers of dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) by esterification with carboxylic acids that can be derived from biomass. We demonstrate that the esterification of DCPD proceeds via a reaction intermediate, that is, cydecanol (DCPD-OH), and propose an esterification mechanism over solid acid catalysts.
