dc.description.abstract Gamma-valerolactone(GVL) is one of useful compounds derived from levulinic acid (LA). Therefore, engineering of the metabolic pathway of Pseudomonas putida which can convert LA into 4HV is receiving great interest. However, side pathways involved in LA catabolism of P. putida are not fully identified yet. In this study adaptive laboratory evolution (ALE) experiment was performed to investigate the possible modification of the P. putida for improved 4HV production through reverse engineering. In addition, since current genetic tools in P. putida are time consuming and costly due to their low efficiency, we are also developing simple and efficient genetic tools for genome engineering in P. putida. -
