dc.description.abstract Thread packing (TP) is a widely-used technique to improve the efficiency of parallel systems. Despite extensive prior works, relatively little work has been done to investigate its performance inefficiencies. To bridge this gap, we quantify its performance impact on synchronization-intensive applications and identify the root causes of its performance inefficiencies. -
