dc.description.abstract The paper investigates the plausible use of near-field sheet-like wave guide for wireless energy transfer through-metallic wall applications. In comparison to the magnetic resonance coupling, the near-field wireless energy devices penetrate through-metal walls without encountering a significant drop in power transfer efficiency. For the investigation the receiver was designed to operate at a resonance frequency of 118 MHz. A cylindrical-wave-cavity was designed as a receiver. In the investigation, the power transfer efficiency of -3.87 dB was obtained for the case without metallic walls. While, -4.02 dB and -4.07 dB was obtained for a metal obstruction of thickness 1mm and 2 mm respectively. -
