dc.description.abstract We report the use of a blends of poly[2-methoxy-5-(2’-ethylhexyloxy)-p-phenylene vinylene] (MEH-PPV) and a dilute concentration of ionic liquid containing dissolved ions as active layer in polymer light-emitting electrochemical cells (PLECs) with FTO/ZnO/active layer/Au configuration. Reduced charge injection barriers at the electrode/active layer interfaces, high current density at relatively low bias voltages (24 V), and high electroluminescence efficiency was obtained by using the single active layer with mobile ions. The device performance was improved by optimizing the composition of MEH-PPV and Ionic liquid. -
