dc.description.abstract A Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) technology has been drawn much interests in research area. However, it is difficult to be well implemented as an elaborate WPT system which has high efficiency with reasonable cost. WPT coils have small coupling coefficient because of large air gap between the coils. Therefore, the WPT converter uses electric resonance between coil inductance and resonant capacitor to compensate large leakage inductance of the WPT coil. By using Series resonant in both of primary and secondary side which is so-called ‘SS topology’, the high leakage inductance can be compensated. However, the SS topology has high reactive power and conduction loss. By using First Harmonic Approximation (FHA), the conduction loss and the reactive power will be calculated. In addition, the design methodology of the WPT converter will be proposed with an optimal figure of merit for the WPT converter. -
