The colour appearances of various coloured lights in a dark and in an office lighting condition were investigated. Thirty-four test colours were generated using RGB LED bulb for the psychophysical experiment. Eight subjects evaluated hue, colourfulness and brightness of each test colour using a magnitude estimation method. The results showed that under office lighting condition, green lights in a dark condition look like yellowish green colours and low saturation colours look more colourful than those shown in a dark room. The model performance test showed that the colour appearances under an office lighting condition were well predicted with CIECAM02 with the equi-energy white. The performance of CAM02u for a dark condition showed poorer than that of CIECAM02. |
