In response to the increasing concern over environmental sustainability, this presentation will chart a collective journey through the works of Korean nature artists, who have immersed themselves in creating an affective relationship with nature. Such works are an invaluable cultural resource that holds the potential to extend how we understand our way of living with nature. Students’ responses to the bioregional practice of these artists, which I observed at a recent on-campus collaborative art project, will also be reviewed to discuss the possibility of extending alternative pedagogical ideas, which are in development in education, and prompting a dialogue that navigates ways to encourage more sustainable practices in the future. |
