The feasibility of daily load follow operation has been demonstrated in the equilibrium cycle of OPR1000. An equilibrium core of OPR1000 is developed and loaded with 177 PLUS7 fuel assemblies in 3 batches. Three reactivity control strategies are examined for the load follow operation. 1) use only regulation banks, 2) use regulation banks with boron control, and 3) use regulation banks, boron control, and the part strength banks. It is demonstrated that, using the strategy 3, the daily load follow operation is feasible at BOC, MOC, and EOC of the OPR1000 equilibrium cycle. |
