dc.description.abstract Circulating tumor cell (CTC) is a critical component of metastasis. Here, we suggest a lab-on-a-disc for CTC enumeration from whole blood. The disc allows gentle yet efficient size-based filtration, achieving high recovery rate (95%) and log depletion of WBC (2.5). Moreover, applicability of whole blood without dilution and fast processing time (1 min for 3 mL of whole blood) enhances the utility of our system. Due to these advantages, this disc is exceptional in the field of CTC isolation and can be a powerful tool for cancer diagnosis and detecting cancer metastasis. -
