dc.description.abstract The use of an ion gel as the gate insulator in polymer TFTs is described. The ion gel is composed of an ionic liquid and a triblock copolymer, and provides a very large specific capacitance, which allows both low voltage operation and high transconductance. Ion-gel-gated TFTs can be switched at a rate of 1 kHz and the response time is strongly correlated to the ionic conductivity. -
