Abstract
Monte Carlo multi-physics simulation is an active research area that was restricted in the past to solving small-size problems like single-pin or single-assembly problems. Only in the recent years have Monte Carlo multi-physics solutions for large-scale power reactors started to be published. However, those publications are mainly focused on the demonstration of a multiphysics capability of a Monte Carlo code without detailed analysis. As a next step, this paper presents sensitivity test results against BEAVRS benchmark cycle 1 obtained through multiphysics simulations by the Monte Carlo code MCS developed at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology. Simulation parameters to get unbiased, converged solution are suggested based on the sensitivity tests and the MCS solution of BEAVRS Cycle 1 using those parameters is presented.
